Tell us about yourself! Who are you?: Married to my wife of 10 years, we relocated (return trip for me) to CNY in 2018 with our two children from Washington, DC. We enjoy experiencing all of the great restaurants in our area. Some interesting finds have been a bakery in Hamilton and a Mexican restaurant in Chittenango. With our children, we keep busy with sports and outdoor activities. We spend a ton of time at Woods Valley from December to April.
Why should we feature you?: The change of pace from Washington, DC while securing fulfilling careers in upstate NY has been integral to the enjoyment that we’ve found for our family over the past 3 years. Our story may resonate with other professionals considering a move to upstate NY.
What do you love about living here?: We enjoy living in upstate NY for the four distinct seasons, easy access to many outdoor activities, and the wonderful people.
What is Upstate, NY to you?: Upstate to me is unique. It takes time to grow an affinity for it. The beautiful landscape coupled with fascinating industries and employers makes it unique. There’s still so much to explore regionally.

If yes, have you ever left and came back? : Yes. After graduating from college in 2006 I moved to Washington, DC. I began a career in public affairs, serving in various capacities in the U.S. Senate, lobbying, communications, and trade associations. After marrying my wife and having two children we decided to find a pace of life that was better matched for us.
