Oneida County Tourism (OCT) announced today that Utica, New York will host the 2026 New York State Tourism Conference, presented by the New York State Tourism Industry Association (NYSTIA).
The three-day event takes place April 22–24, 2026 at Delta Hotels by Marriott Utica. More than 200 tourism professionals from across New York State are expected to attend.
As the official host organization, OCT will lead the effort to welcome the state’s top tourism experts and partners. The conference is expected to generate over 250 hotel room nights and more than $75,000 in local spending at restaurants, shops, and attractions throughout downtown Utica.
A Proud Moment for Utica
“Hosting the 2026 New York State Tourism Conference is an incredible honor for Oneida County Tourism and our community,” said Sarah Foster Calero, President of OCT and NYSTIA Board Member. “This is about more than bringing colleagues together—it’s our opportunity to show them what makes Utica special. And I’m not just talking about chicken riggies and halfmoons. We want attendees to experience the creativity, hospitality, and pride that define Central New York.”
“Oneida County is proud to host the NYSTIA Conference and showcase all that our region offers,” added County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “From our rich history and cultural attractions to our natural beauty and growing hospitality industry, this event lets us highlight why Oneida County is such a welcoming destination.”
Why Utica Was Chosen
Utica’s central location, expanded hospitality infrastructure, and ongoing investments made it a natural choice. Turning Stone Resort Casino’s Evolution expansion, the Utica University Nexus Center, and the city’s thriving food, arts, and heritage scene all helped secure the win.
Madison Cermak, Director of Operations at OCT, and Sarah Foster Calero are working closely with the NYSTIA executive team to deliver an unforgettable experience.
“We’re thrilled to welcome New York’s tourism leaders,” said Lee Arthur, General Manager at Delta Hotels by Marriott Utica. “This is our chance to show the best of Oneida County and all the exciting things happening around the city.”
Conference Highlights
Conference programming will include keynote sessions, interactive breakouts, and networking opportunities. Attendees will also join off-site learning experiences at attractions across Oneida County. These hands-on tours will showcase the region’s culture, history, and recreation—and demonstrate why Central New York is a must-visit destination.
